7 WAYS TO MAKE THE MOST OF AUTUMN & WHY I LOVE THIS SEASON
I actually can’t believe that it’s already october, but although the time is going with a speed I can’t follow, I must admit that I do love autumn. There’s so much to look forward to: Halloween, bonfire nights, soft wool sweaters, rainy days and much more you can read below.
Go on an adventure – I love to go on a roadtrip or hop on my bike and drive away and explore new places I’ve never seen and been before.
Movie nights – Get together with the girls and watch scary movies or marathon night with Harry Potter or get in the true autumn mood with movies like Good Will Hunting, When Harry Met Sally and You’ve Got Mail.
Spend some quality time with yourself – Curl up with a cozy blanket and read a good book or start a journal writing down what you are grateful for, or make a scrapbook with pictures and other great memories.
Try new recipes – If you’re not too much of an outdoor person, staying indoor is also a great way to try out new things. Such as spending more time in the kitchen and make new dishes. Here’s 3 recipes that I want to embark on: Roasted Sweet Potato And Coconut Soup, Slow Cooker Beef Rague, or this delicious Tikka Masala With Chicken/Chickpeas.
Listen to old and new records – I truly love to put on a vinyl and just either sit with a cup of coffee and read a book or look through magazines or whenever I clean/tidy my place.
Go apple picking – And make apple cider, apple pie, candy apples or apple chips.
Go for a walk – Nothing calms me more than a long walk in the beautiful surroundings of nature. Witnessing the changing of seasons. Getting the fresh air of autumn.
What else to love about autumn: The autumn color palette such as burnt orange, mustard yellow and warm red | Oversized and soft knit and jumpers | Warm drinks like hot chocolate, coffee or tea | Darker days which means candles and scented candles with the smells of nature | Homemade soups | Staying warm by the fireplace.
