A RECAP OF MY STAY IN NEW YORK CITY
I went to new york city for the first time, last year. It has been one of my biggest dreams to get to experience the city that never sleeps. And I finally did get to see this magnificent city. This post is a look back and recap of my stay, what I saw and experienced.
TOP OF THE ROCK
This is the view from Top of the Rock observation deck in Rockefeller Center. We actually visited on our last day in NY, and went here early in the morning. The light was so beautiful over New York city, at this time of the day, I was so happy to get up early in the morning to witness this sight.
I was going with one of my friends that had been here 5 times before. She knew all the great spots and showed me around Central Park. The park is huge and there are a lot of things to do there. You can easily spend a whole day walking around the park and just experience The pond, Bathesda Terrace, Great Lawn and much more. So many beautiful things to see every where you look. Incredible sculpture, architecture and the nature ofcourse.
BROOKLYN BRIDGE & BROOKLYN
Oh, the view! It was such a great and beautiful experince to walk Brooklyn Bridge. Brooklyn was my favorite. It’s just so different from Manhattan, you feel a huge difference when you are coming directly from hectic Manhattan to Brooklyn. We spend most of the day walking around and exploring neighborhoods. I noticed how chill and trendy Brooklyn is. It has a constant cool vibe. I finally found out what everybody was loving about Brooklyn. Coffeeshops at every corner, awesome vintage markets, beautiful street art.
NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN
Every inch of this garden is beautiful. I kept finding incredible spots where to shoot editorials. You can easily spend a whole day walking around exploring this gem. No wonder that it is one of the greatest botanical gardens in the world and the largest in any city in the United States.
It’s imposible to walk anywhere in New York, without running into trendy cafées, bar or bakery’s. My favorite place was Shelter located in Williamsburg in Brooklyn (pictured below). This was also the first time I tried Aperol Spritz for the first time, and loved it immediately.
Through my stay in NYC, I tried places like Lobster at Chelsea Market (also tried the most delicious cupcakes), Harlem Shake, Whole Foods, The Trailer Diner Lounge. (Just a small summary because I tried a lot of places and did not get the names.)
Also, you can’t go to NY without getting bagels. I kind of got addicted, and found a bagel shop nearby my hotel and got bagels and coffee every morning.
The things I didn’t get on camera but also experinced was Chelsea Market, Museums such as Guggenheim and The Metropolitan Museum Of Art, Grand Central Station, Times Square, New York Public Library, One World Trade Center, Ground Zero and Flatiron building.
New York is definetly a city you have to experience atleast once in your life. I know for sure that I will go back at some point, to enjoy these things again, but especially the bagels 😉
