5 WAYS TO SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY LIFE A LITTLE MORE

I work full time in a job that is often hectic, and I’ve often experienced high pressure and felt very uncomfortable because I had way too much on my plate. I’ve therefore become extremely conscious of how I spend my days. I embrace the quiet evenings. Taking time off from the world and better care of myself. I found out that this was exactly what I needed. To slow down, making no apologies for what my body and mind needs. Assuring that I take care of my self and that which makes me the person I am and want to be. And because of that, figuring out my own limits, I want to share 5 things that personally helped me bring calm into my life.

5 THINGS YOU CAN DO:
  • Candles. Create a calm space with pillar candles or scented candles. I personally love scented candles with the smell of the outdoors.
  • Take a bath. If you are so fortunate a person to own a bathtub, this is the perfect way to unwind. Put on some soothing music, light a candle and enjoy the moment.
  • Go for a walk. This is a great way to breath in and let go of the pressures of life.
  • Add more greenery to your home. Plants can do wonders for our well-being, and the environment around us.
  • Spend time in the kitchen. Bake from scratch and make an afternoon of it. The smell of fresh bread or cake will fill your home. What’s not to like?

I love to put on some soothing music that gets me in a cozy mood and makes me feel relaxed.

MY PERSONAL PLAYLIST:

So Good At Being In Trouble & Necessary Evil – Unknown Mortal Orchestra

Mystery Of Love – Sufjan Stevens

Just Like Heaven – Katie Melua

Dusk To Dawn – Emancipator

From The North – APSE

Still Beating & This Old Dog – Mac DeMarco
